For this project, Ristech donated tablets and Hublet provided protective tablet covers and their cloud-based management system to each of the nine classrooms of Melody School in Chimaltenango, an institution dedicated to helping underprivileged Mayan children access quality education. With the PressReader app installed on each tablet along with free access licenses, students can now utilize a wide selection of global newspapers and magazines. This integration enhances core subjects like mathematics, science, Spanish and English, while expanding educational opportunities with diverse online materials.

Melody School serves 70 students, aged 3 to 18, who speak Kaqchikel as their first language and learn Spanish as Guatemala’s official language. With the donated tablets, they can use apps to build bilingual skills. PressReader’s K-12 catalog further supports this learning, offering a wide selection of Spanish-language publications and an Auto-Translate tool that lets them translate articles into Spanish from dozens of other languages.
