Depending on the size of the airport, your options might be limited, but many larger airports are akin to shopping malls where you’ll find stores and kiosks selling everything from books and souvenirs to high-end fashions and perfumes. If you’re crossing an international border, then of course the duty-free shop is a must-visit.
Indulge in a bit of self-care
Travel can be tough on the body and mind. Fortunately, a number of airports feature spaces where weary travelers can relax and unwind.
Perhaps you only have time for a quick chair massage, or maybe you can indulge in a more extensive spa experience. Either way, consider taking the opportunity to pamper yourself.
Grab a drink or a bite
Sure, you could grab coffee and a sandwich from a multinational chain, but why not go for something different? Even if you’re just passing through, many airports offer the opportunity to eat and drink like a local, with regional specialties or local craft beers.
Explore the airport itself
Some airports are architectural marvels while others impress through their sheer size, but it is always worthwhile to take a leisurely stroll and see what makes each one distinctive.
